What is Sleep Apnea?

Sleep apnea is a serious sleep disorder that occurs when a person’s breathing is interrupted during sleep. People with untreated sleep apnea stop breathing repeatedly during their sleep, sometimes hundreds of times a night. This means the brain - and the rest of the body - may not get enough oxygen.

What is Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP)?

When my Apnea Doctor raised the pressure a great deal, I had to convert to a bi-pap machine. Lizette at SMG was amazing at helping me take home and try different masks at this increased pressure. It was wonderful how she zeroed in and finally reached our mutual goal!
